эпиграмма [апр. 27, 2003|12:20 am]
Anatoly Vorobey
Придумалась эпиграмма по-английски. Посвящается не скажу кому.

Before you trust this man, remember this:
Although he aims to please, he'll always miss.

Прочёл "aims to peace". Подумал про Буша. Заметил очитку. Расстроился (не думал, что у меня в голове угнездился такой мусор).

Да, странная очитка, действительно.

Very cute (although i can't shake the feeling I've seen the last line (or the variation on it) somewhere -- but, perhaps, all great things are obvious in retrospect :) )

the last line spotted

Happy lover kisses miss
Unhappy lover misses kiss

- maybe you've seen the similar line in this proverb?

Re:

Well, I'm pretty sure I haven't seen it anywhere before ;) but yeah, the punchline is probably too obvious not to have been used before, in one variation or another.

Fabulous, simply fabulous.

Ought to be translated into Russian by Samuel Marshak.
